Hi

Hi all, welcome to the new Parents section of Coochicoos. I hope you find this new section a fun place to meet and share with other parents. I started Coochicoos because I love design and found so much great stuff out there for new parents.

You see, I am a parent of a 17 year old, and there just wasn't much "cool" baby stuff around back then. Mostly Disney and Pooh. Not bad, but if you're a modernist at heart, then you might understand how terribly frustrating it was. Not to mention how every diaper bag was way too girly.

Skip ahead 17 years, and my wife is pregnant and we're expecting at the beginning of August. Boy or girl, we don't know. Stay tuned as we're in for a great new ride.

Thanks for joining us at Coochicoos:Parents!

Daddy Needs a Drink . . .

So, I recently started reading the book belonging to the above blog title, and I can actually relate to Mr. Robert Wilder, and our lil "chicken" (as my wife often refers to our boy) hasn't even hatched. If you or any Dads out there are in need of a good laugh, AND have a great sense of humor and do not mind an F-bomb here and there, OK everywhere, go buy this book! The chicken, or Liam Archer Hlavach as he will soon be known is due on my birthday (8/10) and I couldn't be more excited. It is har… Continue

Kindermobel - the birth of a business

This is basically a tool for me to journal the challenges of starting a business, having a two year old son, and expecting a second child in January - all this while my current job has been 'disestablished'.

We have started a business to import children's furniture from Offi Kids to distribute to retailers in New Zealand. This venture has been in the pipeline for 8 months but really only kicked off seriously in February 2007 when we found out the company I work for was up for sale and…

No Room For Boys

I have a son, so I have to shop for boy stuff. I could be completely insane, or it could be that girl swag takes up about 3/4 of every store, and boy stuff is usually somewhere back by the exposed plumbing.

Las…
